Parallel Port ist immer disconnected

Hallo Allerseits,

wir haben ein merkwürdiges Phänomen mit unserem vmware2 Server:
Dieser (HP ML350 G5, 2xXeon5420, 16GB RAM, Windows 2003 Enterprise SP2) hat einen onBoard Parallel Port,
der im Bios des Wirts offenbar korrekt erkannt wird (auf IRQ7) und auch funktioniert:
Beispielsweise haben wir mal eine alten Nadeldrucker zum Test eingerichtet.

Im vmware Infrastructure WA habe ich dann den Parallel Port hinzugefügt,
connected to physical LPT1. Im Bios der vm habe ich dann zur Sicherheit den
Parallel Port von auto auf enabled / IRQ7 gesetzt.

In der vm steht der Druckeranschluß dann im Gerätemanager, funktioniert aber nicht
(z.B. wenn man unseren alten Nadeldrucker mit Text/generic anspricht).
Dafür ist der Parallel Port im vmware infrastructure WA mit einem roten X
(also disconnected) versehen. Daran ändert sich auch nichts, wenn man mit Edit auf
"connected" oder "connect on power on" klickt oder den Gast neustartet.

Ich habe mal die vm.vmx angefügt. Zum test hatten wir mal
parallel0.bidirectional = "TRUE" gesetzt, jedoch ohne Erfolg. Daher hatten wir es
wieder zurück gesetzt.
Ebenso haben wir
parallel0.allowGuestConnectionControl = "TRUE" gesetzt, auch ohne Erfolg.


Für jegliche Anregungen wären wir sehr dankbar ;)

1. stimmt die device-nummer wirklich ? (LPT1)
2. welcher account benutzt die VM ?

AFAIK duerfen parports nur von admins benutzt werden

Account der vmware Dienste

Hallo Ulli,

wir haben mal die Dienste (vmware Authorization,DHCP,Host,NAT,Server WA, VSS Writer)
von "Lokales Systemkonto" auf den Domänen Admin umgestellt.

Leider ohne Erfiolg :(

Im vmware.log stehen auch noch die gleichen Fehler:

Den VMserver als Mitglied der Domäne aufzunehmen ist keine gute Idee, dann passieren solche Fehler wie bei dir und ich weiß nicht, ob das überhaupt Erfolg hat. Der VMserver sollte immer autark sein und nur die Gäste können Mitglieder einer Domäne sein. Es ist aber auch kein Problem, den DC als VM laufen zu lassen...

danke für die Antwort, wir werden das nächstes mal berücksichtigen.
Jetzt werden wir diese Applikation wohl erstmal nicht virtuell laufen lassen :(
