Hallo,
ich habe xp auf vmware-server unter ubuntu7.1 als Gast installiert.
Da Netzwerk und USB leider nicht laufen frage ich erst einmal nach einer ausführlichen Installationsanleitung, bevor ich hier rumfrage, möglicherweise habe ich sch bei der Installation Fehler gemacht.

Denke ich mir auch deshalb frage ich nach einer detaillierten Anleitung in Deutsch.
Vielleicht habe ich ja im Vorfeld schon Fehler gemacht, weil davon "keine Ahnung"

Ja, ich denke, /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl auf jeden Fall.
Ob ich alles richtig gemacht habe weiß ich nicht genau.

Hi

Soviel ich weiss, ich nutze bridged Modus, muss man das machen.
Ubuntu ist klar ! habe es mit 7.04 und 7.10 getestet.

dann xinetd installieren
dann vmware server installieren (./vmware-install.pl)

zu "allem" ja sagen

jetzt wird's wichtiger...

dann bei networking: ja
bei NAT: nein
host-only: nein

sonst alles immer nur mit enter bestätigen, serial rein und fertig.
Dann müsste es gehen, ahbe es schon oft mit 1.0.3 - 1.0.5 bis beta 2 installiert.
Hat immer funktioniert !

USB brauche ich nicht, kann deshalb nichts dazu sagen.

Hallo ich werde es dann mal ausprobieren.
Für das USB habe ich hier http://wiki.ubuntuusers.de/VMware
etwas gefunden, hab wohl den Wald vor lauter Bäume nicht gesehen
Wenn`s nicht funktioniert melde ich mich wieder.
