vm lässt sich trotz genügend RAM nicht starten?

hallo!

vorweg, bin ein vmware-neuling.
ich nutze den vmware-server (unter windows) auf einem laptop mit 2 gbyte ram und min. noch 10 gbyte platz auf der hdd.
ich brauche für meine arbeit mehrere vms (alles windows-gäste). insgesamt so ca. 5-7 stück, wobei meist nur 3-4 parallel laufen sollen.
mein problem ist nun, dass ich schon 2 vms laufen habe und nun eine dritte starten möchte, aber das nicht geht. ich bekomme die fehlermeldung, dass ich zu wenig freien arbeitsspeicher habe, obwohl laut taskmanager noch 900 mbyte frei sind.
woran kann das liegen?

Poste mal ein vmware.log von einer VM die du nicht mehr starten kannst:
lass 2 laufen - und dann poste das log der 3.

habe natürlich statt code die log-informationen der logdatei gemeint!

Guck dir mal deine config.ini an (in allusers\appdata\vmware... ist bei komisch konfigurierten Windows schon mal versteckt)

Du hast da eine Zeile:
prefvmx.allVMMemoryLimit = 500

Schliess alle VMs, loesch die Zeile und starte neu

Habe ein ähnliches Problem. Allerdings lässt sich bei mir gar keine VM starten. Die Fehlermeldung ist die gleiche.
Das System hat 2GB RAM von denen lt.Taskmanager noch 1,4GB frei sind. Ich versuche eine VM mit 1024MB RAM zu starten.

Habe mich da gerade mal durchgewühlt, kann aber irgendwie keinen Hinweis zu meinem Problem finden...
prefvmx.minVmMemPct = "100" wird ja dort von Dir als korrekt beschrieben. Oder nicht?
Welcher Schalter wäre denn für mich relevant???

Setz so einen Eintrag hinein

nimm einen Wert so ca 90% deines vorhandenen RAMS

Der Rechner hat 2GB RAM, "1600" sollte also funktionieren. Leider erhalte ich immer noch dieselbe Fehlermeldung
Müssen noch weitere Einträge gemacht werden?

Bei mir hats geholfen den Wert prefvmx.allVMMemoryLimit anstatt zu löschen auf 512 zu setzen.
