vCenter 4 und ESX3.x-Hosts

Guten Tag zusammen,

ich möchte einen ESX3.0.1-Host in meinem vCenter4 einbinden. Der Host wird auch erkannt. Will ich ihn nun hinzufügen, erscheint die Fehlermeldung:

Die Installation des cvCenter-Agentendiensts konnte nicht durchgeführt werden. Host kann nicht auf Aktualisierung vorbereitet werden.

Wie muss ich die Aktualisierung durchführen? Ich möchte den ESX nicht schon auf ESX4 anheben.

müsste es gehen.

Hast Du alle Patches eingespielt für den 3.0.1?

Oder den alten Agenten manuell deinstallieren.
Dann klappt meistens die Installation vom neuen.

Hatte damals auch mal Probs damit, beim Umstieg von 3 auf 3.5.

Vorgehensweise:

- If the problematic ESX is in a disconnected state in VC, please right click and remove - Ensure this ESX is gone from VC
- Connect to the ESX server using putty, or direct on the console
- Log on as root
- Run "rpm -qa | grep vpxa" - this will search for the vpxa installation
- Run "rpm -e <output from last command>" to remove vpxa
- Restart hostd on your ESX "service mgmt-vmware restart" -this agent is responsible for communication between your ESX and VI
- Now go back to VC and attempt to add your ESX

und wie funktioniert das beim 4i?

Ich habe meinen VC mit U1 geupdatet und jetzt kann ich auf meinen Hosts die VC Agents nicht mehr installieren:-(
