in last post I forgot that you should delete the vmsd-file.

Can you upload the vmware.log from a start attemptafter you deleted the vmsd-file to ifile.it

i cannot start the wm the pc freezes, where are the vm-workstation logs? i cannot find the logs in current dir

before i started the vm, without problems

one question, i have downloaded all the files to a external hdd. the original server is esxi. can it be that i need to do this on the esxi, my pc has vm-workstation

It can be done from Workstation as well - but that is a little more advanced.

Anyway - you should find a vmware.log next to the vmx-file - same dir.

Which Workstation do you use ? I only tested this with WS 6.5.3 on a Windows 2003 host.

It should be easier to do that on the ESXi ....
