4 Serielle Schnittstellen?

Hallo Leute,

erst mal danke für ein socl tolles Forum, hat schon oft geholfen, aber jetzt hab ich ein Problem, das noch nicht im Forum angesprochen wurde, folglich hab ich mich jetzt registriert und schreiben Euch.

Also ich habe eine Win2K VMWare aufgesetzt.
Physisch habe ich 4 Serielle Ports am Computer angeschlossen.
Diese Ports habe ich auch in der VMWare installiert, da laut der Beschreibung im Handbuch 4 Ports insgesamt unterstützt werden.
VMWare gestertet und schock, nur 2 Ports werden erkannt.
Im BIOS der VMWare können auch nur 2 Ports konfiguriert werden.

Frage: Ist das mit den 4 Ports nur ein schlechter Scherz, oder gibt es eine Einstellung dafür?

Ich brauche die 4 Ports, weil ich am Port 2 und Port 3 ein externes Gerät hängen habe und diese Ports von meiner Anwendung angesteuert werden, welche ich im VMWare Umfeld (reines System) testen will.

Lass uns dass mal so angehen :

du schickst deine vmx - ich trag dir 4 ports ein - du startest mit der Kombination und schickst das log.

Danach koennen wir dann mal weitersehen.

Hat es etwas damit zu tun, das im Phönix-BIOS der VMware-Maschine nur einen Serial PortA und einen Serial PortB zur Auswahl steht, die auf Auto gestellt sind, wähle ich Enabled bei beiden hat die keine Auswirkung.

Hi
ich hab mal ein bisschen mit 4 com-ports herum probiert.

Es scheint Probleme bei der Erkennung durch den Gast zu geben.

Ich habe diese Konfiguration verwendet
serial0.present = "TRUE"
serial0.fileType = "file"
serial0.fileName = "com-out1.txt"
serial1.present = "TRUE"
serial1.fileType = "file"
serial1.fileName = "com-out2.txt"
serial2.present = "TRUE"
serial2.fileType = "file"
serial2.fileName = "com-out3.txt"
serial3.present = "TRUE"
serial3.fileType = "file"
serial3.fileName = "com-out4.txt"

Die com-out*.txt habe ich leer angelegt.
Ich musste Port 3 und 4 separat von Hand nachinstallieren - einem nach dem anderen. Erkannt wurden sie dann als Port 5 und 6 mit Problemen.
Ich habe dann eine Modem erkennung durchgefuehrt und kann dann in den Textfiles sehen ob der Port aktiv ist.

Ich denke du musst einmal die 2 Ports nachinstallieren - dann beide deinstallieren und dann noch einmal neu erkennen lassen.
Dass die Ports im Bios nicht auftauchen hat nichts zu sagen.

Danke für den Tipp mit dem nachinstallieren, dass musste ich ja auch auf dem normalen Computer machen, ergo auch auf der VMWare, ich dachte aber, dass die von meinem erkannten System auch in der VMWare sofort erkannt werden.

Punkt um, jetzt gehts vielen dank nochmal.
