Esxi 6.5 U3 - LSI MegaRAID 9266 8i

Hallo Zusammen
Ich würde gern mein LSI MegaRaid 9266-8i Kontroller in Betrieb nehmen, bitte hat dies jemand erfolgreich hinbekommen?

Ich habe nun zum dritten mal mein ESX neu installiert.... aber ich sehe denn Kontroller nicht.

Den 9266 hatte ich zu Zeiten von ESXi 5.0 / 5.5 im Einsatz und da die Boards, in denen er steckte, für 6.5 von der HCL geflogen sind, haben alle meine aktuellen ESXi 6.5er den 9361. Laut HCL sollte der 9266 aber mit dem lsi_mr3 laufen.

Ist dein Board auf der HCL für 6.5?

Kannst du mit einem von Stick bootbaren OS (Live Linux, c't Notfall Windows oder ähnliches) prüfen, ob der Controller überhaupt vom Board erkannt wird?

Ob der Controller beim start des PCs sich registriert hat sollte ein "lspci" auf der ESXi Shell zeigen. Hier werden alle am zumind. erstmal alle "sichtbaren" Geraete angezeigt. Das bedeutet noch nicht das der ESXi als OS da ne Treiber fuer hat aber es ist der erste Schritt.

Oftmals bekommt man die Hersteller,Geraete,SubID usw. auch mit heraus und damit kann auf der HCL dann mal gucken ob und welcher Treiber sich fuer das Geraet verantwortlich fuehlen sollte. Da es einzig diese IDs inkl. FW Stand sind welche verantwortlich sind kann man Pech haben wenn man da nur einen NoName Nachbau des LSI MegaRAID hat. Frueher haben die Leute dann geschaut die DeviceMap des Treibers zu "ergaenzen". Aber erstmal schauen was sich da ueberhaupt meldet.

Wo stammt das "lspci" her? Wenn es nicht von der ESXi SSH Shell stammt, bitte dort auch prüfen.

Unterstützt der 9266 Virtual Drives auf SSDs? Kannst du im Controller-BIOS ein "Virtual Drive" erzeugen oder ist das schon passiert?

Dies ist auf meinem HP DL380 P

Ich habe die Disk gesehen und ein RAID 5 erstellt (ich kann es hier gerade nicht beweisen). Es waren 1.8 Gb (je 945gb) ich muss
denn Server nochmals runterfahren und höchstwahrscheindlich auch den 9266 entfernen, leider habe ich nicht noch ewig Zeit zum
herum Spielen.

Ich habe auf unterschiedlichen internetseiten "www.thomas-krenn.com" gelsen dass der LSI_MR3 deaktiviert werden sollte, und den
scsi-megaraid_sas version 6.610.15.00-1OEM in betrieb genommen werden sollte. Nun bin ich seit ca. 2 Tagen dran, und die Lust
scheint auch langsam dahin zu sein.

Nun kommen noch ganz neue Probleme und vermutlich ein Neukauf eines Kontrollers steht auch bald nichts mehr in Weg.
Sicher werde ich nochmals Updaten.

Nein, das sieht schon ziemlich zusammengelog... aeh, zusammengebastelt aus

Im Eingangspost gibt's noch einen Sunrise Point AHCI-Controller (H170-Desktop-Chipsatz), und nun taucht der LSI in einem HP-Rechner mit iLO4 auf, und soll als Sub Functions zwei QLogic 10Gbit-Ports aufweisen...

Wenn nicht gespielt werden soll, dann waere es hilfreich, hier ehrliche Informationen zu posten.

Nur so meine Meinung.
