Hallo Leute,

ich habe heute meinen Windows 2003 SBS Gast von einer Platte auf die andere kopiert. Als ich die Kopie starten wollte bekam ich folgende Fehlermeldung

Cannot open the disk 'w:\windows server 2003 small business\Windows Server 2003 Small Business-000006.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on.
Reason: The parent virtual disk has been modified since the child was created.

Ich habe das Ende der Logdatei mal kopiert:

Ich benutze VMWare Server auf einem Windows2000Server Betriebssystem.

Hat jemand mit dem Fehler Erfahrung, brauche dringend Hilfe.

wenn es wichtig ist schick mir ne email und / oder ruf an - ich streike zur Zeit also kann ich hier nichts fuer dich tun ...

Hallo Ulli,

habe das Problem gelöst. Und zwar hatte ich auf einem zweiten Rechner VMWare Workstation installiert. Die defekten VMWare Containerdateien hatte ich dann auf eine USB Platte kopiert und mit VMWare Workstation angestartet. Mein Gast lief sofort los. Um nun die Containerdateien wieder auf den ursprünglichen Rechner zu bekommen habe ich die Clone Funktion von VMWare Workstation genutzt. Danach konnte ich mit dem VMWare Server meinen Gast wieder betreiben.
