VMware-Server will nicht :(

Hallo!
Ich habe mir heute VMware-Server installiert.
Kompiliert und Startet ohne Probleme.

Als Client nutze ich Windows mit der Remote Konsole.

Ich kann mich auch gut verbinden. Ein System anlegen klappt auch.

Aber ich kann es nicht starten: Folgender Fehler kommt :

Du postest ziemlich durcheinander. Oben Win 3.11, jetzt 2003 Server.

So wird das nichts.

Genaue Hardware aufschreiben bzw. OS des Hosts.

Welche Gäste hast du installiert? Wenn ja wie?

Immer die gleichen Probleme?

Hast du Rechte? (Administrator, root getestet?)


Und jetzt bitte ausführlich. Alles andere bringt uns nicht weiter.

Also!

1) Es spielt KEINE Rolle, welches System!
Es kann DOS, Windows 3.11, Win2k3 sein ... vollkommen egal!

2) JEDES MAL der selbe Fehler!

3) Es ist kein System in der VM installiert! Nur Profile für Windows 3.11 und Win2K3!

4) Ich nutze den user root, Rechte sind für alle VMs auf 777 eingestellt ...

Mein Host is:

Gentoo Linux 2006.1 (Kernel 2.6.20)
AMD Geode LX 800 (533MHz)
1GB Ram
120GB HDD

Hm, Gentoo ist nicht gerade der optimale Kandidat für VMWARE. Und der Geode ist auch nicht gerade der Renner.

Man sollte das nicht als root laufen lassen. Teste bitte erstmal als User.

Geode ist schwach, ich weis ;) Mir gehts auch nicht darum jetzt was starkes zu machen. Will eher ein paar kleine Systeme da drauf.

root habe ich nur laufen lassen, damit ich ausschließen kann, dass es keine probleme mit den zugriffberechtigungen gibt ...

wenn ich nun einen normalen user nehme passiert das selbe!

Dann wohl eher ein Hardwareproblem. Kannst ja mal die Meldung bei Google eingeben, außer deinen 3 Threads findet sich nichts. Kannst du mal eine andere Maschine testen? Mit dem Geode wirst du vermutlich eh keinen Spass daran haben.

Um eventuell Hardware Probleme auszuschließen, nimm mal Fedora oder Suse. Unter beiden Distributionen habe ich das bis jetzt immer zum Laufen bekommen.

Klar, das mit dem Geode ist mir bekannt. Es ist halt wirklich nur eher zum spielen gedackt und nicht als produktiver Einsatz ;)
