Vware no connection to other hosts on the net

Hi all,

I have a small but tricky problem:

my windows machine on where the vmware server is running on has a vmnet 1 (host-only) and a vmnet 8 (bridged) and my local physical ethernet adapter (standard setup after installation)

-) vmnet 1 and the debian vmware are on the same subnet (host-only) ping possible

-) my windows local eth is on another subnet as my second laptop

-) vm debian can ping vmnet 1 and the windows local physical eth

-) my 2nd laptop can ping the windows local eth and vmnet 1

but a ping between the 2nd laptop and the vm debian is not possible ? why?

only thing i changed was the mac address of my local windows eth after installing the vmware server

before i did that is was working

any ideas ?

do you have dublicate mac-addresses ? - did you pick a valid MAC ?

mac addressen sind alle unterschiedlich

also die vom vmnet 1 und vom debian vmware server und die vom physikalischen eth sind unterschiedlich

wie gesagt einziger unteschied zu vorher ich habe die mac addresse des hostrechners geändert und in weiterer folge auch dann die eth0 aus dem vmx file gelöscht und neu generieren lassen (vorher natürlich das z25-pesistant-net-rules file gelöscht)

die uuid hab ich mit den letzten 3 bits der mac vom vmware debian server abgeändert

Das Problem dürfte am windows liegen ... anscheinend funktioniert das routing zwischen meinem lokalen eth und dem vmnet1 nicht

hat das problem schon mal wer gehabt?

Hmm - so richtig kann ich mir dein Scenario nicht vorstellen ...

subnet1 192.168.112.0

darin befindet sich der vmserver mit debian und das vmnet1 (host-only)

subnet2 192.168.156.0

darin befindet sich das eth_lokal vom wirtrechner und ein zweiter laptop


der ping vom debian rechner kommt bis zum eth_lokal aber nicht drüber sprich zum zweiten laptop

der laptop hingegen kommt bis zum vmnet1 aber nicht zum debian rechner

danke für die antworten ich bin gerade auf die Lösung gekommen:

Routing und RAS unter den Windows Services war deaktiviert damit hat das Windows zwischen dem physikalischen eth und der vmnet eth nicht geroutet !!

ich sag nur microschrottttt !!!
