Kann mir mal bitte jemand den Unterschied erklären zwischen

raw , sparse und monolithic ?

oder einfach ma eine Link zu ner Anleitung

habe ich neulich mal im US-forum gepostet ...

At the moment current VMware Workstation, VMserver and VMplayer use the following 6 different disktypes:

> "monolithicSparse"
This is a growing disk in one piece - the only disk type that uses no external descriptor but an embedded one

> "monolithicFlat"
This is a pre-allocated disk in one piece - it uses an external descriptorfile

> "twoGbMaxExtentSparse"
this is a growing disk split into 2Gb chunks - it uses an external descriptorfile

> "twoGbMaxExtentFlat"
this is a preallocated disk split into 2Gb chunks - it uses an external descriptorfile

> "fullDevice"
this is a physical disk useing the full disk - it uses an external descriptorfile

> "partitionedDevice"
this is a physical disk and you can allow access per partition - it uses an external descriptorfile
