Hallo,

ich hatte heute einen Ausfall einer meiner SAN´s.
Ich habe zwei identische SAN´s. Und drei VM Hosts (5.1).
Eine SAN ist ausgefallen (Hängen geblieben) nach wieder in Betriebnahme findet einer der VMHost die LUNs nicht bzw. verbindet nicht?

Zwei von den drei Hosts laufen auf der SAN jedoch wieder ? Der Dritte kann nur auf die eine SAN zugreifen und nicht auf die zweite?
Ich habe bei diesem Host bereits den ganzen iSCSI Software Adapter einmal gelöscht, hilft nichts kann nur auf die eine SAN zugreifen.
Beide SAN´s und die drei Host sind alle im gleichen iSCSI Netz?!
Noch jemand Idee außer komplett Neuinstallation des Hosts?
Ping und vmkping gehen vom Host zur SAN.

Guck ins vmkernel.log wenn du den Button zun "Rescan" drueckst und poste den Inhalt hier bzw. verlinke das Logfile.

überprüf doch mal, ob die IQN's deiner iSCSI HBA's auf deinem SAN registriert und berechtigt sind.

Error 5 ist üblicherweise Access denied.

Also das kann es leider nicht sein. Der VM Host ist IP mässig genau zwischen den anderen beiden. Wenn ich die SAN nur in dynamische Erkennung packe kommt eigentlich nix im vmkernel log:

Hallo,

der Log Snippet hat nichts mit deinem SAN Problem zu tun, laut Log hast du ein Problem mit einem internem ATA Device.

Um einem Host Zugriff auf das SAN zu gewähren muß am SAN die iSCSI IQN berechtigt werden.
Diese Punkt kann nur funktionieren, wenn eine IP Verbindung möglich ist, und das hast du ja mit vmkping überprüft.

Daher mußt du auf deinem SAN überprüfen, ob die IQN's aller deiner Hosts den Zugriff auf die shared Volumes erhalten haben.
Das sieht eher wie ein Berechtigungs denn wie ein Verbindungsproblem aus.

Hi,
würde auch mal tippen, dass auf dem SAN der IQN des einen Hosts rausgeflogen ist und er daher nicht mehr zugreifen kann.

Was für ein SAN ist es denn?
