Nach der Installation VMKERNEL Fehler

Hallo.

Nach der Installation von ESX 2.1 auf einer IBM X300 (Celeron 900Mhz) und 512 MB Ram (ist nur ein Testserver)

startet das System zwar, aber er kann VMKERNEL nicht starten da kommt ein FAILED. Auf dem nächsten Schirm wird auf VMKWARNUNG und VMKERNEL im /var/log hingewiesen. Diese sind aber beide leer.

Auf das Webinterface kann ich mich verbinden.
Die initiale Konfiguration habe ich auch vorgenommen. Bei der Zuweisung der Netzwerkkarte zu Virtual Maschine oder Konsole habe ich auch schon alle Konstellation durchprobiert. Gleicher Effekt.

Bios des Servers habe ich ebenfalls schon aktualisiert. Folgendes Logfile ist das einzige, was ich über die Konsole ziehen kann:

Mir ist noch folgendes aufgefallen:

Wenn ich den Server nicht mit ESX sondern mit Linux hochfahre starten die VMWARE Dienste ja nicht. Beim Reboot bleibt er allerdings mit der Linux start Option bei dem Punkt

Md: stopping all md devices.

hängen und reagiert nicht mehr. Hier hilft nur Reset.

Vielleicht ist das ja noch ein Hinweis auf das Problem?

ich habs....

die Kiste hat mehr Ram gebraucht. das war alles... da könnte auch mal jemand eine sinnvolle Meldung einbauen. :D

Hallo wandan,


vorab, die IBM X300 ist nicht für den ESX zertifiziert.
Alles was Du da zum laufen kriegst, oder auch nicht, ist dem Zufall überlassen.

Schau mal hier hinein:

Und einen ESX mit weniger als 2 GB RAM zu fahren, bringt nicht wirklich etwas, auch nicht zum testen.
