VISTA 64Bit und VMserver 2.0.1 bleibt hängen

hallo zusammen,
habe vmserver installiert, ein virtuelle maschine (windows xp 32) kreiert, im consolen-fenster tools installiert, eine bootfähige XP-CD eingeschoben und habe auf power on geklickt. In der status-zeile bleibt der staus bei 95% stehen und das war's.
WAS MACH ICH FALSCH bzw. hab ich falsch gemacht?.....
Wäre sehr dankbar, wenn jemand nen tipp für mich hätte.

Diese Einstellungen machen für mich keinen Sinn. Du reservierst 7371MB für alle VMs und gestattest aber eine 50%ige Auslagerung

Klingt für mich nach einer fehlenden HW-VT deiner CPU. Jep hatte ich ja glatt übersehen:

VMware drückt sich ja leider etwas ungenau im Manual zu den Gast-Möglichkeiten in 32/64bit aus. Mit deiner vom Funktionsumfang beschnittenen CPU kannst du nach meiner Erfahrung alle Versuche einen 64bit-Gast zum Starten zu Überreden vergessen, selbiges gilt erst recht für den ESXi als Spielwiese in einer VM.

Erstell mal für Virenscanner und/oder Security-Suite eine Ausnahme für alle Virtuellen Maschinen und überprüfe alle Verzeichnis-Rechte. Falls das schon geschehen ist, fahr alle VM komplett runter und lösch dann alle Dateien&Ordner mit *.lck.
PS: Vista32/64 stehen als Desktop-OS nicht auf der Liste der offiziell unterstützten Host-OS und von daher sind Probleme möglich.

Aber was heißt "Mit deiner vom Funktionsumfang beschnittenen CPU" ????
Und wenn es stimmt, dass VISTA eigentlich nicht unterstützt wird, was ich jetzt in Bezug auf ORACLE, diverse Drucker und Kopierer erfahren mußte, hat dieses sch. Betriebssystem sein Leben verwirkt.
Bitte beantworte mir doch noch die Frage mit der beschnittenen CPU bevor ich dem BS den GARAUS mache

Da wir ja in einem VMware-Forum sind, bezieht sich meine Aussage einzig und allein auf die nicht vorhandene VT-Fähigkeit deiner Quad-CPU. Wie Joerg schon andeutete ist das aber kein Verdienst von Vista, sondern eher eine momentane Intel-Beschränkung. Denn Intel hat ja zumindest für die Zukunft eine Besserung im VT-Sinne für seine Billig-Linien als Dual- & Quad-Version gelobt und dabei leider keinen genauen Zeitpunkt bekannt gegeben. Das wird dir jetzt aber auch nicht weiterhelfen.

Einer zukünftigen Aufrüstung auf einen Quad der 9000er-Reihe sollte vom FSB1333 und von der Verlustleistung (95W TDP) her kein Problem darstellen, sie ist ja gleich und die Performance aufgrund des größeren Second-Level-Cache ist auch etwas höher.

Naja, auch AMD ist nur relativ. Es können wohl doch nicht alle AMDs mit der VT-Erweiterung dienen. Zumindest bietet das Manual für AMD-CPUs einen besseren Anhaltspunkt dafür als für Intel-basierte.
