Windows XP hängt für 20 Sekunden

Hallo,

ich habe folgendes Problem:

Ich kann mit WindowsXP SP2 (viruell) ganz normal arbeiten aber ab und zu hängt es kurz (20Sekunden). Die Festplatte rattert wie verrückt und dann gehts weiter. Woran liegt das? Kann man das abstellen? Das nervt wie die Sau! :evil: :D

Also du hast 3.5GB Arbeitsspeicher und reservierst davon 3182MB für VMware. XPSP3 braucht schon mal 512MB als Minimum. Dann hast du deine v.HDD nur als Sparse-Disk mt 15GB, also mitwachsend, eingerichtet. Ich würd daher die v.Disk in eine "preallocated" Disk umwandeln und den für VMware reservierten Speicher verringern. Wenn du nur eine VM mit 1280MB ständig am laufen hast, sollten 2GB für alle VMs mehr als ausreichend sein.
Um die Grundlast an IO der VM zu verringern würde ich auch entweder in die VMX, dann gilt sie nur für diese VM oder in die "config.ini" bei beendeten VMware-Damons/Diensten den Parameter setzen
mainMem.useNamedFile = "FALSE"
Außerdem solltest du deine v.HDD mal von außen per CMD/Bash defragmentieren
vmware-vdiskmanager -d meineDisk.vmdk


Hast du sonnst noch irgendwelchen CPU/HDD-intensiven Sachen gleichzeitig laufen?
