Hallo zusammen,
ich habe folgendes Problem.
Ich erstelle über LiveStateRecovery von einem Server ein Image und möchte das in VMware 5.5 importieren. Dabei wird folgendes Logfile generiert:

Ich habe eine Vermutung wo der Hacken ist. Auf dem Server gibt es 4 Partitionen. 1. ist eine Servicepartition mit 150MB und die 2. ist die eigendliche Systempartition. Ich glaube daß das das Problem ist, nur habe ich keine Idee, wie ich das lösen kann!
Hat hier vielleicht jemand eine Idee???

Ich wuerde so vorgehen:
mit ghost die 2. Partition imagen und in eine neue vmdk als einzige Partition wiederherstellen.
Anschliessend wuerde ich diese Partition bootfaehig machen und dann den Importer laufen lassen.

wie continuum schon sagte auch mein Vorschlag,...
Mach von der 2. Partition nen Livestate-Image und importiere es in VMware über den virtual machine importer. Es Kann sein, dass du dann die boot.ini anpassen musst über dos oder über nen live Windows. Kann aber auch schon ausreichen, wenn du per fdisk die 2. Partition (nachdem du ein Image gezogen hast und es importiert hast ist es ja dann die 1. Partition in deiner Vmware) als aktiv markieren musst.
Wenn das funktioniert hat, kannst du dann über die vmware Einstellungen virtuelle Platten hinzufügen und nach und nach die einzelnen Datenpartitionen importieren.

was glaubst was ich schon versucht hab????
das mit boot.ini bearbeiten kann nix bringen wenn er diese nichmal findet!!!
Habs aber trotzdem geschafft, hab einfach die blöde service-partition ins image mit reingenommen, dann gings. will heut oder morgen den kompletten exchange in der vmware laufen lassen!!! :wink:
Kann man das image irgendwie auch im nachhienein bearbeiten, ähnlich ghost-image?

ja, entweder:

*.vmdk als 2. Disk an eine andere VM konfigurieren (gleiches OS)

oder:

VMware-Diskmount benutzen (z.Zt. m.W. nur für Windows-Hosts)
