Folgende Fhlermeldung tritt auf, wenn ich versuche mein viruelles Windows 200 unter Debian Linux zu starten: Cannot connect virtual device sound. No corresponding device is available on the host.

Would you like an attempt to be made to connect this virtual device every time you power on the virtual machine?

Mein Sound funktioniert allerdings einwandfrei. Was mache ich falsch?

Bei den Angaben kann man etwas mehr als nichts sagen: Gar nichts.

Welches Device verwendet?

Das selbe problem hab ich auch in einer anderen Version. Vielleicht kann man ja beiden zusammen aufklären.

Folgende Fehlermeldung

Failed to open sound device /dev/dsp: Device or resource busy
Failed to connect virtual device sound.

Host: Ubuntu 6.06
NVidia CK804 OSS Midi device
File: /dev/snd/midiC1D0

Ich weiß zwar nicht warum Ubuntu grade den Treiber genommen hat aber es funzt.
Ich hab eigendlich eine Realtek ALC850 8-channel CODEC Soundcard

Configuring Sound
VMware Workstation provides a sound device compatible with the Sound Blaster
AudioPCI and supports sound in Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows
NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003 and Linux guest operating
systems. The VMware Workstation sound device is enabled by default.
Sound support includes PCM (pulse code modulation) output and input. For example,
you can play .wav files, MP3 audio and Real Media audio. MIDI output from Windows
guests is supported through the Windows software synthesizer. MIDI input is not
supported, and no MIDI support is available for Linux guests.
Windows 2000, Windows XP and most recent Linux distributions automatically detect
the sound device and install appropriate drivers for it.
Installing Sound Drivers in Windows 9x and Windows NT Guest
Operating Systems
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98SE and Windows NT 4.0 do not have drivers for
the Sound Blaster AudioPCI adapter. To use sound in these guest operating systems,
you must download the driver from the Creative Labs Web site (www.creative.com)
and install it in the guest operating system.
Creative Labs has a number of Web sites serving various regions of the world. The
adapter name varies, depending on the region, but usually includes PCI 128.

Desktop-Umgebung: Gnome und Fluxbox, bei beiden derselbe Fehler.
Soundserver: ALSA, wenn das die Frage beantwortet.
Vmware-Version: neuste: 5.5.3 build-34685
Soundkarte: Creative Audigy 2 ZS
Device steht auf Auto.

Das was SubSonnic gepostet hat, hilft hier glaube ich nicht viel weiter, da ich die Karte ja in Windows gar nicht ausprobieren kann, da schon vorher Fehler gefunden wurden.

Das Problem ist doch, dass das Device belegt ist.

Unter Linux kann man VMWARE dann mit dem Soundserver starten, z. B. "artsd vmware ..." bei KDE.
