Hallo

Hab seit gestern einen neuen Rechner und auf diesen nun mal die neue Workstation installiert. (die alte klappte auf meinem alten Rechner wunderbar)

Das installieren klappte wunderbar (mal von ein paar Warnungen abgesehen, dich ich ignoriert hab), auch starten lies sie sich. Nur das booten der VM scheiterte dann.

Follgende Fehlermeldungen durfte ich lesen:
Version mismatch with vmmon module: expecting 137.0, got 122.0.
You have an incorrect version of the `vmmon' kernel module.
Try reinstalling VMware Workstation.

Failed to initialize monitor device.

Unable to change virtual machine power state: Cannot find a valid peer process to connect to.

Failed to reply to the dialog: Pipe: Read failed

So das waren alle. Verstanden hab ich davon eigentli fast nur Bahnhof, okay das neu installieren hab ich verstanden. Aber bracht net viel

Vielleicht kann mir ja wer zweckdienliche Hinweise geben

The module loads perfectly in the running kernel.

Das merkwürdige is nur, dass die VMWare WS 4.5 ohne Probleme arbeitet.

Merkwürdig, vielleicht is ja VMWare 5.5 doch nu net reif für meinen Pc

gcc 4.x ?

Hmm Stefan glaube ich nicht, WS 5.5 als RPM unter SuSE 10 installiert, Kernel und VMwaretreiber mit GCC 4.0.2 gebaut und es läuft bis einige Dinge bei SuSE die nichts mit VMware zu tun haben VMwareseitig alles einwanfrei. Allerdings habe ich dort nur Win 2000 als Gast. Hatte es nicht vor kurzem bei Ubuntu ein Kernelupdate gegeben?

Hab das Problem gelöst, bei der 5.5 braucht ma kein any-any-patch.

Jetzt läufts, es gab zwar noch eine Warnung, aber alles arbeitet, soweit ich das auf den 1. Blick beurteilen kann.
