Meine Ausstattung [kurz und bündig]:
2.0 Ghz Pentium 4 Mobile
60 GB HDD
768 DDR-RAM
Ati Radeon 9000 Mobile
WinXP SP1

und meine Frage:

Wie lässt sich den Physical Address Extension im WINXP deaktivieren?
Ich habe VMWare Workstation ver 3.2.0 build-2230 auf meinem WinXP installiert. Wenn ich jedoch einen Virtual Machine starten möchte kommt:

The host operating system is using the Physical Address Extension (PAE) processor option. VMware Workstation currently cannot run on a PAE-enabled host. Please disable PAE in the host operating system and restart VMware Workstation.


Liegt es an den 768 MB Rams?



Nun, was ich bisher schon getan habe:
- boot.ini öffnen
- nach multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect habe ich /nopae hinzugefügt und neu gestartet.

Ergebnis: Error The host operating system...

Schön, dann probiere ich es mal so...
- regedit starten
- Im HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Session Manager Memory Management den Wert bei PhysicalAddressExtension auf 0 gesetzt(vorher war es auf 1)
- restart

Ergebnis: Error The host operating system...
