Probleme mit gcc bei der Installation von VMware

Hallo,

bin Newbie in bezug auf LInux und VMware!!! Also hoffe ich mir kann einer weiterhelfen. Ich komme nicht drauf!
Ich benutze Xandros 2.0 als Betriebssystem bzw. als Host und will XP in VM laufen lassen. Aber:

Also ich hab VMware installiert, was mit den Anleitungen kein grosses Problem war. Nun muss ich VMware konfigurieren. Und da ist der Hund begraben. Nach dem Ausführen von /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl kommt folgende Meldung:

Leider finde ich nichts was mir weiter hilft.
So wie ich das verstehe muss ich /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl mit gcc 3.3.2 ausführen. Wie kann ich das machen???

Oder meinen Kernel neu kompilieren. Und das ist mir im Moment zuhoch.

Hab mein System mit dem rumprobieren schon fast zerstört (irgendwie sind ein paar fonts abhanden gekommen, sodaß x nixht mehr starten konnte. Naja tut jetzt nichts zur Sache.

Ich hoffe mir kann jemand weiter helfen! Bin Newbie und bereit zu lernen. Brauch jedoch noch viel hilfe!!

Das Script versucht ein Modul für deinen Kernel zu erstellen, was sinnvollerweise mit dem gleichen Compiler (auf Linux = gcc) geschehen sollte, mit dem der Kernel gebaut wurde (bei dir wohl Version 3.3.2).
Du musst also dem Script eine Umgebungsvariable "CC" geben, die auf den passenden "gcc" (das ist der C-Compiler) in Version 3.3.2 zeigt. Du hast scheinbar Version 2.95.4 instaliert (das zeigt dir der Befehl gcc -v).

Gib mal in der Konsole folgenden Befehl ein (Achtung: keine Hochkommata sondern Backticks -> rechts neben dem Fragezeichen auf der Tastatur):

ls -l `which gcc`*

Bei mir sieht das so aus:
-rwxr-xr-x 2 root root 83668 23. Okt 19:26 /usr/bin/gcc
-rwxr-xr-x 2 root root 83216 11. Feb 2003 /usr/bin/gcc296
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 79452 2. Jun 2003 /usr/bin/gcc32

Wenn du Glück hast, hast du /usr/bin/gcc33 und /usr/bin/gcc33 -v sagt dir, daß es gcc in Version 3.3.2 ist.

Dann wäre das richtige Kommando um vmware-config zu starten:

CC=/usr/bin/gcc33 /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl

Ansonsten mußt du eben diesen gcc 3.3.2 nachinstallieren, der sollte auf der Distributions-CD drauf sein (ich kenne Xandros nicht).

erstmal ist alles Verständlich!!! Nur leider will es nicht klappen.

Also gcc 2.95 und gcc 3.3 sind installiert. gcc 3.3 wird aber wohl nicht 3.3.2 sein??
Also nachinstallieren. Auf der Distributions CD und im Xandros Netzwerk finde ich es. Aber das müsste ja gehen.
Was mich viel mehr beunruhigt, ist das wenn ich die Befehlszeile CC/usr/bin/gcc-3.3 /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl eingebe die selber Fehlermeldung hervorbringt. und gcc 3.3 ist definitiv installiert:

Es muß
CC=/usr/bin/gcc-3.3 /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl
heissen (mit NAME=wert weist du einer Variablen einen Wert zu).

So ich bin ein Stück weitergekommen.

gcc 3.3.2 ist installiert und vmware-config.pl wird nun auch ausgeführt. Allerdings kommt jetzt eine andere Fehlermeldung:

Also wenn ich das richtig verstehe hat vmware Probleme mit meinen Kernel Headers und kann deswegen kein modul bauen.
Schau mich auf der Xandros-Seite um, da gibt es mal wieder was spezielles von denen wegen den Kernel-Headers.

Für Tipps bin ich dankbar!

Es ist geschafft!! Mit der Anleitung von xandros bekommt man auch die headers so hin wie Sie seinen sollten!! Und jetzt läuft das ganze Ding auch endlich.

ich habe dasselbe Problem mit Fedora Core 2. Auf welcher Seite hast du die Anleitung gefunden? Du schiebst irgendwas von Xandros. Ich kann aber die Seite wenn ich über Google suche nicht finden. Wäre nett wenn du mir die url posten könntest.
