Hi,

Inn installed the VMware workstation on the host (Windows XP) and create a new vitual maschine SuSe Linux. I can ping the IP pf the Linux and vise versa. But How can I copy files between them?

Besides, I tried using putty to connect the votual maschine but it failed. I was told " connection time out."

Someone can help?

install the VMware Tools into the VM. Then mark the file and pull it into the VM.

What about setting up SAMBA on the Suse-VM ?

Habe VMware Tools installiert. Aber als ich versuche, eine Datei von (Host) Windows nach Linux zu ziehen, klappt es nicht.

Bei Installation zeigt ein Hinweis: Make sure the guest operating syste is running, otherwise you can not install the VMware Tool.

Ich habe schon das Vituell Maschine Linux gestartet. Das bedeutet " the guest operating syste is running", oder?

Ausserdem, jedesmal als ich versuche, das Maus von Linux ausziehe, muß ich ctrl + alt drücken. Ich denke das VMware Tool ist wahrscheinlich nicht richtig installiert. Oder?

Wie meinst Du SAMBA on the Suse-VM ? Ich habe die Vituell Maschine auf dem Host (worauf Windows XP läuft) installiert. Meinst DU dazwischen gibt's Firewall?

Sagt dir SAMAB etwas ? - das ist ein filesharing system mit dem man unter Linux normale Windows-freigaben nutzen kann. Das sollte uner Suse ziemlich leicht einzurichten sein.

Ob Firewalls laufen ??? - sorry - das kannst du nur selber wissen

so wie es aussieht sind die VMware Tools nicht sauber installiert. Ansonsten wäre ein Ctrl+Alt nicht nötig um den Mauszeiger aus der VM zu bewegen. Einfach nochmal nachinstallieren, dann sollte es aber klappen. Hier ein nettes HOWTO dazu. Funkitioniert bei Suse genau so.
