Suse 11 auf WS 5.5 keine Platte

Moin zusammen,

ich habe ein Problem. Ich habe mir ein VMWare Image für Suse 11 besorgt und habe dieses auf einer Workstation 6 gebootet, läuft alles einwandfrei.

Nun habe ich das Ganze auf nen Server geschoben wo ne Workstation 5.5 läuft und dort ist der boot abgebrochen, weil er die Festplatte nicht findet.
Er Zeigt mir im Info Fenster auch nur an: Hard Disk (SCSI 0:0) ohne größe

Bei der WS 6.0 steht dort: Hard Disk (SCSI 0:0) 8GB

Ich kopiere natürlich den Ganzen Ordner, sprich es liegen 100% die gleichen Dateien vor.

Auch ein Umwandeln mit dem VM COnverter auf eine WS 5.5 hat nix gebracht.

Wodran kann das liegen?

Die vmdk meckern alle Editioren an, dass Sie zu groß sei...

Du hast eine einteilige vmdk ohne externe beschreibungs datei ?

In der WS 6.0 ist (wie schon beschrieben) halt der Unterschied, dass er mir bereits auf der Informationsseite die Größe der HDD anzeigt: 8GB

Das tut er bei der WS 5.5 nicht.

Nehme ich halt den kompletten ordner und starte die vmx Datei in einer Workstation 6.0 funktioniert das Suse eben auch... Das ist das was mich wundert... Daher bezweifel ich, dass es mit dem Betriebssystem zu tun hat...

Habs gefunden aber das wundert mich jetzt auch:

Wandeln in:
VM Ware 6 -> geht und "Finish" lässt sich als Button auswählen

Mit welchen HDD-Controller (IDE/SCSI) wurde eigentlich die Suse-VM erstellt? "Could not find" klingt für mich nach einem Grub-Problem oder fehlendem/nicht eingebunden Treiber in der VM.
