Windows 2000 Professional VM und dual monitor

Hallo,
VMWare Workstation 6 unterstützt die Benutzung von 2 Bildschirmen. Soweit so gut. Mit einer XP VM funktioniert das auch wunderbar. Der Kunde, bei dem ich das einrichten muss, hat aber eine Windows 2000 Professional VM. Und W2k unterstützt dieses dual monitoring nicht, so zumindest lautet die Fehlermeldung in der VM WS, wenn dual monitoring eingeschaltet werden soll. Ich selber habe aber noch W2K auf meinem Rechner zu laufen (nicht als VM) und nutze zwei Bildschirme. Also irgendwie muss w2k das schon unterstützen.

Hat jemand eine Idee. Bin für jeden Tipp dankbar.

Wenn ich das noch richtig in Erinnerung habe, ist zum einen das Servicepack4 dafür genauso Vorraussetzung wie neue Graka-Treiber, da die Dual-Monitor-Umsetzung rein durch den Graka-Hersteller vollzogen wird.

Hier mal exemplarisch das Vorgehen an einer nVidia-Quadro:

Follow these steps to enable and use nView Dualview display mode under Windows 2000:

1. Make sure that your display devices are turned on and the NVIDIA display driver software has been installed on your computer.
2. After Windows starts up, from your desktop, right click to view the desktop menu.
3. Select your display choice, such as NVIDIA Analog Display. The NVIDIA Display control panel with menu appears and opens on the Quadro NVS 280 PCIe information page.
4. Click nView Display Mode to display the nView Display Mode page.
5. Click the nView Modes list and select Install Dualview (Advanced).
6. When the Restart Required prompt appears, click Restart Now.
When the system starts up, you may see a series of Dualview installation prompts. It may take several seconds for the first Dualview prompts to appear.
7. Click the confirming prompts (such as, Yes, OK, or Finish) to continue.
8. Restart your computer as prompted.
9. From your desktop, right click to view the desktop menu, then click Properties and the Settings tab. You will notice that at least two display images appear on the Windows Display Properties Settings page now, indicating Dualview mode.
10. Click Advanced > Quadro NVS 280 PCIe tab > nView Display Mode menu option.
11. From the nView Modes list, select Dualview and click Apply.
