Probleme mit Workstation 6.5 und Smartcard Reader

Habe folgendes Problem: Wenn ich die Smartcard des Notebooks über Removable Device der VM durchgebe, schmiert die VM mit einer Fehlermeldung ab.
Host-BS: Windows XP pro SP2
VMWare Version 6.5.0 b118166 & Version 6.5.1 b126130
Guest-VM: Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 & Windows XP SP2
Hardware: Dell Latitude E6500 inkl aktuellstes BIOS, Chipset & Treiber
Ich hab bei den Removable Devices zwei Smartcard Reader zur Verfügung. ein virtuellen und den echten. Wenn ich den virtuellen aktiviere, sieht alles io aus, der Reader erscheint auch im gerätemanager, aber die smartcard wird nicht erkannt.
Wenn ich den Smartcardreader Broadcom 5880 aktiviere, erscheint folgender Fehler:
