findet virtual disks nicht :(

guten tag.
ich habe jetzt nach längeren hin und her ein bootbare image einer windows startdiskette bekommen. es fährt hoch, wie man es gewohnt ist, aber er findet halt die 2 virtuellen festplatten nicht IDE 0:0 4 GB und IDE 1:0 2 GB. warum nicht oder was kann man da machen? setup.exe von der windows95-cd sagt
'Die Installation wird vorbereitet.
Es kann kein temporäres Verzeichnis erstellt werden.
Bei einer HPFS- oder NTFS-Festplatte müssen Sie zum installieren von WIndows eine MS-DOS-Startpartition erstellen.'

Hi
die Festplatten sind noch nicht initialisiert, - kein Bootsektor-kein MBR-keine Partitionstabelle.
Win95 ist zu doof, das selber zu machen.
Leg am besten vorher schon eine fat-Partition an.

Die Bioseinstellungen wirst du ja wohl ueberprueft haben.

hast du nen tip? wie mach ich das, das ist doch nur eine datei...
wenn ich von der bootdisk hochfahre und dann fdisk ausführe, werden ja auch keine platten angezeigt.
IDE 0:0 ~/win95/win95.vmdk mit 4 gb current size 704kb
IDE 1:0 ~/win95/win95-2hd.vmdk mit 2 gb current size 384kb

Hi
deine *.vmdks sehen doch aus wie erwartet.
Unformatierte Platten im Rohzustand halt.
Was hast du denn erwartet ?

das man wenigstens mit fdisk die virtuellen platten bearbeiten könnten und dann gegeben falls formatieren.
wie ich es der doku entnommen habe, sollten die festplatten automatisch erkannt werden:
1. Insert the Windows 95 CD-ROM Setup Boot Disk in floppy drive A: and insert the Windows 95 CD in the CD-ROM drive.
2. Power on the virtual machine.
3. After the virtual machine boots, if you are presented with a choice of CD-ROM drivers, select the first IDE driver option available (even if your computer has a SCSI CD-ROM drive).
4. Partition the virtual disk.
A:\> FDISK
Answer the questions.
Note: If you create a primary partition that is smaller than the full size of the virtual disk, be sure the partition is marked active.
5. Reboot Windows 95. If the cursor is not already within the VMware Workstation window, click in the window, then press Ctrl-Alt-Ins on a Windows host or Ctrl-Alt-Del on a Linux host. If prompted on reboot to select a CD-ROM driver, select the first IDE CD-ROM driver from the list.
6. Format the C: drive.
A:\> FORMAT C: /S
7. Start the Windows 95 installation.
A:\> D:\WIN95\SETUP /IS
