Phänomen alle paar Wochen: Gastsystem starten extrem langsam

Hallo,

alle paar Wochen (zuletzt 2x innerhalb von 10 Tagen) kommt es bei mir (WS 6.0) dazu, dass der Gast extrem langsam hochfährt. Das Wirtssystem ist Windows XP Prof. SP2, die Gäste allesamt Windows 2000 Prof. SP4. Verändert wurde zwischenzeitlich an den Systemen nichts. Beispielsweise hängt das Gastwindows minutenlang an dieser Stelle fest:



Auch das weitere Hochfahren gestaltet sich als sehr langwierig. Als Problemlösung habe ich folgende Vorgehensweise herausgefunden: VMWare deinstallieren und wieder installieren. Anschließend laufen alle Systeme wieder so schnell wie ich es gewont bin - nämlich äußerst performant.

Wer weiß Rat?

Die oben markierte Pause von fast 2 Minuten tritt auf, wenn die Netzwerkeinstellungen beim Windowsstart geladen werden. Im Ereignisprotokoll kommt es dann hier zur Fehlermeldung:

Bei der CPU-Einstellung war mir nicht klar, was hier das Optimum ist - steht nun wieder auf "One".

Was die Netzwerkeinstellungen anbelangt, kann es schon sein, dass sich hier Fehler eingeschlichen haben, da die VMs teilweise recht alt sind. Welche Einstellung ist die Richtige? Ich benötige hier nichts besonderes, möchte nur innerhalb der VM eine Verbindung zum Internet haben. Testweise habe ich einer VM die Netzwerkkarte entfernt, den gesamten Ethernet-Bereich aus der VMX gelöscht und dann die Netzwerkkarte wieder hinzugefügt. Leider besteht das Problem nachwievor. Ich habe das Gefühl, dass es immer dann eintritt, wenn ich eine VM pausiert und wieder resumed habe. Konfig:
