Was habt ihr fuer Erfahrungen mit downloads von vmware.com
Ich sammel gerade links zu Posts in denen Leute von Download-problemen berichten und koennte etwas Hilfe gebrauchen ...

Hi Ulli!
I have some complaints about downloads from vmware.com:
1. Why do I have to register to download the 60-days-trial software?
As a freelancing consultant my usual account is not allowed to download the current versions. So I always have to fill up VMware's lead-generation database with dummy-entries (
hans.w***stX@discardmail.de, with X > 4 so far )
2. The download-manager has some problems with certain proxy-configuration (if windows system proxy settings differ from special settings for a certain browser).

Hi Ulli!
I fully agree with Joerg.
It is also very frustrating that I need a registration for free parts of complete application suites (for example: VMware View Client).

Super - genau das was ich brauche - da haben wir eben drueber gesprochen und ich hab gesagt das bei den vielen obligatorischen Fragen die meisten Leute einfach irgendwas anklicken - nur um moeglichst schnell mit der Befragung durch zu sein. Dabei wuerden mehr falsche Antworten rauskommen als noetig ...

As VCP you don't have access to download ESX an so on, thats a Problem for us as service provider, because we need one person that has a regular license to be able to download the software.

Ich bin dann wohl die Ausnahme ohne Probleme bei Downloads
Nachdem ich sowieso einen Account bei VMware habe, bekommen sie bei den "free" Produkten ja auch keine neuen Infos von mir, da sie Adresse und e-Mail sowieso schon haben.
