Interessant dabei ist die Eignung für 3D-Grafik.

Parallels Workstation 4.0 Extreme is the first software for workstations to support Intel Virtualization Technology for Direct I/O (Intel VT-d) for full GPU acceleration. Virtualize 3-D modeling, visualization and Hi-Definition (HD) video programs in a Windows and Linux virtual environment at full speeds.

Der große Haken dabei sind die HW-Anforderungen, momentan sind nur die HP Z800 Series Workstations überhaupt zertifiziert...

Bei Parallels bin ich immer ein bischen vorsichtig mit den Ankündigungen.

VMWARE war da wesentlich vorsichtiger, der 3D Krempel wurde jahrelang als experimentell bezeichnet.

Vorsichtig bin ich bei sowas immer, deswegen ja auch die Frage.
Allerdings würde Parallels damit endlich etwas umsetzen, was sich bei der Vorstellung von Intels VT-d schon abzeichnete und dabei keine Intel-only Geschichte bleiben wird. Soweit meine Infos stimmen, hat AMD vergleichbares und selbstverständlich unter anderem Namen als AMD-Vi (IOMMU) veröffentlicht.

Ja bin schon damit am werkeln, bis auf die Grafikkarten läuft das recht gut mit VT-D
VMs sprechen die Netzwerkkarten direkt an und machen keine Probleme.
Derzeit werden ja nur die Teurern Quadros eingesetzt, ander sollen kommen wann weiß allerdingsa keiner.
Stehe gerade mit Parallels in kontakt und ware auf eine Antwort..

- Parallels Shared Folders shortcut available for only one user in Linux guest OSs - fixed.
- Wrong behavior of non-US keyboard layouts - fixed.
- Problems with keyboard/mouse with HP RGS sender installed - fixed.
- Accidental problems with mouse after assigning physical graphics cards to virtual machines - fixed.
- Virtual machines may work not correctly after resuming the host computer from the S3 Sleep mode - fixed.
- Attempts to suspend RHEL 4.7 virtual machines that don't have the pm-utils package installed may be unsuccessful - fixed.
- Problems with creating split virtual disks greater than 1.8 TB - fixed.

These and a number of other issues were resolved in Parallels Workstation 4 Extreme.
