Absturz beim Ändern des Fensters (Größe & Position)

Hallo zusammen,

folgendes Problem: Ich betreibe auf mehreren Gentoo-Hosts Windows-2K-Gäste im VMware Player. Der Player ist gemäß der durch Gentoos emerge angegebenen Versionsnummer vorhanden, nämlich 1.0.6-80404 bzw. 1.0.7-91707.

Bei beiden Versionen habe ich auf allen Maschinen das Problem, dass der Player abstürzt, wenn man bei hochgefahrenem Gast die Fenstergröße ändert bzw. das Fenster verschieben möchte.

Woran kann das liegen?

Den Auszug aus dem "vmware.log" kannst du wieder löschen. Poste statt dessen bitte ein komplettes "vmware.log", ansonsten können wir damit nichts anfangen.
Allerdings wäre die von dir gemeldete Version 1.0.6-80404 bzw. 1.0.7-91707 schon uralt. Soweit mir bekannt ist, sollte der Player bei Version 2.53 und die WS ist sogar schon bei Version 6.5.3 angekommen sein. Ein Update löst daher sicher deine Probleme.

Ich hatte es schon befürchtet, dass ich updaten muss... Ist leider beim Gentoo aus Mitte 2008 ohne Internetzugang hinreichend kompliziert.

Trotzdem schon mal danke, ich poste, wenn ich Zeit hab, mal das komplette logfile.

Du brauchst ja den VM-Player nicht aus dem Gentoo-Repo laden, sondern direkt bei http://www.vmware.com
Aber dazu brauchst du so oder so ein Web-Zugang.

Um das mal zu Ende zu bringen:

Problem ist mit Version 2.5.3-185404 behoben.

Leider hab ich nun das Problem, dass das Bridged Ethernet nicht funktioniert, nur NAT & Host-Only. Ich bräuchte aber eigentlich das Bridged.

Ggf. mach ich dafür mal einen neuen Thread auf. Ich muss noch mal recherchieren, ich werd aus dem Gentoo-Konfigurator (emerge --config vmware-player) noch nicht so richtig schlau.
