ESXi 4.1 Fehler beim Hinzufügen bestehender Platten
Hallo,
bei meinem esxi ist der Raidcontroller ausgefallen.
Ich habe diesen durch ein Nachfolgemodell ersetzt.
Der Controller erkennt auch die beiden Raids.
booten schlägt fehl (ESX startet und meldet dann keine Bootpartition)
Ich habe dann auf eine andere Platte esxi 4.1 neu installiert und den Raidcontroller eingebunden.
im VSphereClient wird mir der Speichercontroller mit den beiden Raids angezeigt.
Wenn ich die Speicher hinzufügen will bekomme ich die folgende Medlung:
"Aufruf von “HostDatastoreSystem.QueryVmfsDatastoreCreateOptions” für Objekt “ha-datastoresystem” auf ESXi “XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX” ist fehlgeschlagen."
Kann mir jemand helfen die Platten wieder ins System zu bekommen?

Schau mal obs einen KB gibt welcher evtl. helfen kann beim ausrechnen.

ist eine Partition vorhanden.(der Einfachheit halber hier nur das Raid mit 1 Partition)

Dann kann mit fdisk -u eine neue Partition angelegt werden.

hier wurde, zwar bei einer anderen Fehlermeldung, aber mit ähnlichen oder sogar gleichen Fehler, durch Löschen und Neuanlegen der Partition wieder ein Zugriff ermöglicht.
Wäre für mich einen Versuch wert, nur habe ich leider nicht die geringste Idee, wie ich die belegte Größe rausfinden kann.
Wenn da jemand einen guten Tip für mich hat wäre ich sehr dankbar.

ich hab nun auf der einen Platte die vmfs-Partition gelöscht und mit den maximal möglichen Werten neu angelegt.
Zugriff vom System ist nun möglich, aber die Meldung beim Hinzufügen des Speichers macht mich stutzig.
Verstehe ich das richtig, dass, wenn ich so weiter mache, alle Daten gelöscht werden?

Unter Debian lässt sich ein iSCSI-Target mit mehreren Softwareprodukten realisieren - unter anderem IET, TGT und LIO. IET ist unter Debian 6 voll mit ESXi 5 kompatibel - nach einem Update auf Debian 7 geht dann nichts mehr - die Fehlermeldungen deuten an, dass das Kernel-Modul komplett austickt.
Unter Debian 7 habe ich deswegen mit LIO und TGT experimentiert. LIO scheitert an WRITE_SAME-Kommandos ohne UNMAP-Bit - etwas das ESXi 5 absichtlich tut und LIO nicht leiden kann. TGT ist nach meinen Experimenten mit ESXi 5 kompatibel.
Wenn man jetzt bestehende Devices (Partitionen oder ganze Platten) über Debian 6 / IET mit ESXi verbunden hat, kann man durch den Wechsel auf Debian 7 / TGT zwar die unveränderten Devices an ESXi durchreichen, aber das VMFS-Volume wird ebenso wenig wie bei dir erkannt.
