in welchem ordner wird die .txt denn erstellt? wenn ich das ausführe, passiert rein gar nichts :(

ich fuehr die cmds immer im Ordner aus wo die vmdks liegen - das ist am uebersichtlichsten.
Ich habe im Explorer eine right-click-extension die direkt dort ein cmd aufmacht - kann ich nur empfehlen - spart jede menge Zeit

Den Pfad hast du uebrigens nicht richtig eingegeben
"F:\bla bla blub\blabla\blabla.vmdk" is ok
F:\bla bla blub\blabla\"blabla.vmdk" ist ungueltig

so siehts aus wenn es klappt

so mit der CMD im kontextmenü hab ich, hat auch jetzt geklappt mit dem exportieren der .txt und dem injizieren der veränderten datei

zur erklärung:
Ich habe meine Base-Disk am Desktop-PC erstellt, dann einen Snapshot, das ganze auf meinen Laptop geschoben, dort nen kleines Programm installiert und einen 2. Snapshot erstellt. Nun habe ich den 2. Snapshot vom Laptop in den VM Ordner am Desktop-PC kopiert und den parentCID Wert angepasst (wie man auf dem Screenshot sehen kann).

Doch leider wird in VMWare beim Snapshot Management meiner virtuellen Maschine weiterhin nur der 1. Snapshot angezeigt. Was muss ich noch ändern?

besorg dir mal nen brauchbaren Editor wie Ultraedit, Scite oder Notepad++

bei dir sieht man ja nichts :D

So - jetzt einen kleinen Zwischen-test.

Wo traegst du ein welchen Snapshot Workstation oder VMplayer verwenden soll ?

Evtl. über add Hardware, add existing virtual Disc? Dort einfach den 2. Snapshot einspielen? Hab glaub ich alles durchgeguckt und keine Option gefunden, mit der ich auf den 2. Snapshot verweisen kann... :(

jetzt guck dir mal die CID-kette genau an

parentCID von blabla-000002 muss auf die CID von blabla-000001.vmdk verweisen
parentCID von blabla-000001 muss auf die CID von blabla.vmdk verweisen

Du haettest es einfacher wenn du nicht direkt mit 2 snapshots angefangen haettest 8)

Ich kann dir nur raten mit einem einfacheren Beispiel anzufangen.

Du musst das von Grund auf verstehen - sonst weisst du dir nachher nicht zu helfen

Wenn ich einen Snapshot mache, werden 3 Dateien im VM Ordner erstellt:

+.vdmk
+.vmem
+.vmsn

Von diesen 3 Dateien muss ich aber nur die +.vdmk in meinen Ordner am anderen PC kopieren richtig?

So, ich bin mir sicher, dass ich diesmal alles richtig gemacht habe, doch jetzt kommt eine Meldung, dass Windows nicht gestartet werden kann, da folgende Datei fehlt oder beschädigt ist:
\Windows\System32\config\system

schonmal gehabt beim portieren von snapshots?

machst du hot oder cold snapshots ?

Fang erstmal mit cold snapshots an - d.h. leg den Snapshot an wenn die VM runtergefahren ist.
Dann bekommst du auch keine vmem-files.
Die *.vmsd kannst und solltest du loeschen - wir brauchen die hier nicht weil wir sowieso ohne snapshot-manager auskommen muessen

hab in der .vmx eingestellt, dass der 1. snapshot gestartet werden soll (der unterschied zwischen der basisdisk und dem snapshot ist eine winrar installation), esfunktioniert, aber mein winrar ist weg? was wird denn in den snapshots gespeichert?

das sollte aber gehen

guck dir das vmware.log an - da kannst du nach schauen ob der snapshot auch wirklich verwendet wurde

Bei den mittlererweiele drei Seiten kommt mir langsam die Übersicht abhanden. Was willst du denn erreichen?
Wenn du eine Software (WinRAR) nur noch in einer VM hast, wurde die SW vermutlich erst nach dem angelegte Snapshot installiert.

Das log sieht doch gut aus - der snapshot ist richtig eingebunden ...

ansonsten habe ich heute meinen freien Tag und mach nichts 8)
