Hallo RNB,
na hier im Forum, es ist alles da.
Forum:
Installation und Benutzung von VMware GSX Server
Thread:
GSX v3 unter ADC Controller ?
Here is how to install Wmvare GSX server 3 on a Windows Domain Controller.
1. Use an MSI editor like
http://www.masaieditor.com/
PS! Requires .Net framework 1.1 or newer.
Get .Net from MS: dotnetfx.exe
2. Use Winzip to extract the files from the file:
VMware-gsx-server-installer-3.0.0-7592.exe
3. Edit VMware GSX Server.msi with Maisai editor.
Remove: Event Sequensing->Install Execute Sequence->LaunchConditions 410
4. Save and exit Maisai.
5. Install GSX server 3 with: VMware GSX Server Installer.msi
6. On your virtial machines you need to edit:
C:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (w2k)
C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (w2k3/xp)
Add under: 127.0.0.1 localhost
192.168.2.1 MyDomaincontroller
192.168.2.1 MyDomaincontroller.internetdomain.com
Where 192.168.2.1 is the ip address of the DC/DNS.
Change to your ip and name of course.
Save and restart the virtual computer.
The Virtual machine is now able to contact the DC/DNS.
If you are unable to log on to a virtual computer
(Windows hangs before the logon box). Just disable
network in WMware when it hangs and you will be able
to log on locally to edit the host file.
Hope this helps any like minded out there.
VMWare: It would be really OK if the installer allowed this, but instead stated no support and a dialog sporting: Are your REALLY sure you want to do this!!!.
